A poem that I wrote in 2000...
It can be frightening
Like the first time
You see the spark of a firefly
And wonder if it would hurt to hold it
Then on a dark and lonely road
You see the faint flickering
Along the edges of the trees
And you realize that it's comforting
Sometimes love is like that

FABULOUS post! i love that poem and the photo. you are talented!
I like that poem. Had you experienced fireflies before you wrote it? I know you have now in Missouri. Did you take the picture?
I WISH I had taken the photo. In my experience it is darn near impossible to accurately photograph a firefly.
We saw fireflies in DC in 97 - remember? And then I saw more in Tennessee in 99. I really love them. I'm so glad that we'll still have them when we move to Illinois.
oh my! 1997 was way too long ago!
