Thursday Tunes: Stand in Holy Places
Last night was our New Beginnings program for Young Women's. The girls sang Jenny Phillips' Stand in Holy Places as a special musical number. Our ward sang this song (with the Young Men) for the stake standards night. It will stay in your head forever. (We took it a little faster than this version...) Very nice.

Lands' End Dress
Lands' End has had some really cute dresses lately. Some of them have good prices, too! This one's a little on the expensive side, but I like how feminine it is. (It probably needs some kind of cardigan to cover the back, though...)

Side-Snap Skirt
JC Penney lured me in with a $10 coupon last week, and I found this cute side-snap skirt by Worthington for $8! Unless you are 6' tall (or wear the skirt right up to your bust), this skirt will hit at the bottom of the knee. But it's cute!

Thursday Tunes: Da Funk
We had Standards Night for the youth on Saturday, complete with a dinner and a dance. It was pretty awesome. I was reminded at the dance of how much I like Daft Punk's "Da Funk" and how funny the video is. Do you remember this?

Hazelnut Chocolino
Last weekend when we were in St. Louis, we visited a new favorite store: Global Foods Market. We bought food from all over the world, including this hazelnut chocolino from Croatia (I couldn't resist the cute squirrel on the front!). It's a bit like cream of wheat, but smoother. Yum!

Thursday Text: Sweet Cream and Sugar Cones
Our next book club topic is cookbooks. We got this one from Williams-Sonoma for Christmas to use with our ice cream machine. Sweet Cream and Sugar Cones is a recipe book from Bi-Rite Creamery in San Francisco. I'm excited to try some of the recipes - salted caramel ice cream sounds fabulous. Maybe as a Valentine's Day treat?

Handmade Gifts
My sister, Beth, is the needlework wizard of the family. She made me these adorable embroidered dish towels for Christmas. She also crocheted some dish cloths for me and sewed these cute rickrack trimmed napkins. What a fabulous gift!

Thursday Text: from The Princess Bride
I finished reading The Princess Bride. It was so much fun. Some of it was not as good as the movie, but some of it was better. A lot of the dialogue was word-for-word. Here's one of my favorite quotes:
"we're having an adventure ... and most people live and die without being as lucky as we are."

Marvis Toothpaste
My husband tried the Marvis toothpaste in cinnamon mint and loved it. (It smelled like red hots, so I couldn't bring myself to try it...) It comes in other interesting flavors like jasmine mint. Does that sound good or weird?
