Bernardaud Etoiles

Being in England got me thinking about fine china again.  Macy's carries this beautiful line by Bernardaud.  Etoiles Limoges Collection is made in France and is stunning.  But at $112 per dinner plate, I'll just have to admire it from afar (like les etoiles...).

Friday Featured Art: The Bowles Porcelain Gallery

One of the areas of the Legion of Honor Museum that I really liked was The Bowles Porcelain Gallery.  Pieces from the 18th century Chelsea porcelain from England (bottom) reminded me of a Chelsea reproduction that I bought for my mom at the Palace of Holyroodhouse shop in Edinburgh (top).  Lovely.

Easter Decorations

Easter is coming early this year!  Williams-Sonoma has some fabulous tabletop decor to get you ready.  I love these little bunny place card holders and classic bunny plates.

Natural World Dessert Plates

I've been thinking about china patterns again lately, and I saw these lovely plates at Anthropologie.  The Natural World Dessert Plates include four patterns, but I like the bee the best (of course).

Abraham Lincoln Presidential China

I know I've posted about presidential china before, but I'm thinking about it again. We visited the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield. (It is an incredible place, and everyone should go!) I liked the Lincolns' presidential china pattern - very pretty but also masculine.

Royal Crown Derby

I've been thinking about china again. Royal Crown Derby has some really incredible pieces. I like these patterns - Darley Abbey for the two top, and Posie on the bottom. Completely out of my price range, though (ever). By the way, they're already offering commemorative pieces for the royal wedding...

China Patterns

On Saturday we were at the Milwaukee Art Museum, and we noticed some really fabulous china. It made me think of the china that we saw at the Palace of Holyroodhouse last summer. And it made me think of the presidential china that we saw at the Harry Truman Library. My china is just white with a silver band, but I'm really liking the idea of some beautifully colored/patterned pieces. (The top set is from the royal collection, the middle is John Quincy Adams, and the bottom is Franklin Pierce.)
