Snow Effect, Damvillers

Each time I have encountered the artwork of Jule Bastien-Lepage I have been really drawn to it.  I love his work.  Snow Effect, Damvillers is a piece at the Legion of Honor Art Museum in San Francisco.  I loved seeing it.

Friday Featured Art: Legion of Honor

I made a big mistake by not writing down any information about this painting, but it's one that I really liked at the Legion of Honor art museum in San Francisco.  I guess I'll have to do some research...

Friday Featured Art: The Bowles Porcelain Gallery

One of the areas of the Legion of Honor Museum that I really liked was The Bowles Porcelain Gallery.  Pieces from the 18th century Chelsea porcelain from England (bottom) reminded me of a Chelsea reproduction that I bought for my mom at the Palace of Holyroodhouse shop in Edinburgh (top).  Lovely.

Friday Featured Art: Legion of Honor Museum

While we were in San Francisco, we visited the Legion of Honor Museum.  You may recognize it from the film Vertigo.  It has a nice collection.  I liked this Georges Seurat painting of the yet-to-be-finished Eiffel Tower.  (These are photos that I took - it was beautiful when we were there.)
