Oh, Martha, You Really Shouldn't Have!

I just found out about something that might use up all of my allowance for the next couple of months...  Martha Stewart Crafts now has a jewelry line at Michaels!  My local store didn't have everything, but they had some awesome stuff.  It will be fun to try out some new techniques - like enameling!

Figural Bunny Collection Serveware

We were in Utah last week for the NCAA games.  It was all very exciting.  On the way home, I picked up the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living, and I was glad I did!  It had a lot of great ideas.  One ad that was particularly cute was for Martha's Figural Bunny Collection serveware at Macy's.  I also liked this bunny cake stand.

Family Tree Stamp Starter Kit

I saw this cute new stamp kit from Martha at Hobby Lobby the other day.  The Family Tree Stamp Starter Kit includes stamps and ink for creating a custom family tree.  What a great idea!

Pressed-Leaf Butterflies

The leaves are changing quickly around our house.  I can't believe that it's October already!  Check out this fun fall leaf craft from Martha.

Skylands Collection

I'm glad that Home Depot has so much Martha stuff these days!  One of our first projects was to install the Skylands collection towel bar and towel ring in our funny old bathroom.  It was a bit of a challenge, but I like how they turned out.

Martha Stewart Dry Embossing Kit

I made some cards the other day using my Martha Stewart Dry Embossing Kit. I like how they turned out. (They were really hard to photograph, though!) You can see the kit here.

Fan Chart

I finished our 6 generation family fan chart for Christmas. I used this template from Martha Stewart. I used a pretty script font, so the names our rather small - but it looks great on the wall. I made it 18"x24" and had it printed at an office store. So exciting!

Have you seen the new paint products from Martha Stewart Crafts? I found them at my local Michaels. There is a whole fabulous line of acrylic paints and stencils from Plaid. I'm excited to try them out!

I checked out the latest Martha Stewart Living from my library. It had some great ideas. I really liked these monogrammed pillows. See more monogram projects here.

Sea-Glass Bracelet

This beautiful sea-glass bracelet was Martha's craft of the day a week or two ago. I have a turquoise bracelet almost just like this that was my grandma's in the late '60s. This could be a fun project with a variety of materials.

Bird Embroidery

I just made this little pillow for my husband's grandma. Using a pillow form makes it a cinch! I embroidered the fabric using a mountain bluebird pattern from Martha Stewart and then sewed it into an envelope cover. I just used a backstitch because I cannot figure out the chain stitch - can anyone teach me?

Tissue-Paper Fans

Happy Independence Day! I was thinking about getting some patriotic bunting for our house, but it looks like these tissue-paper fans from Martha would do the trick. Find out how to make them here.

I'm still not sure about all of these cutting machines, but the Martha Stewart cartridges for the Cricut Cake system are pretty cute. I suppose you could use them on paper, too!

Jelly

Did you see the Martha Stewart Show with Sam Bompas and Harry Parr? I also saw them on the Today Show, and they are fascinating. They're guys from the UK who make incredible jellies, like the ones shown below from their web site. They also have a couple of books out. I'm wondering if it would work to make these from the kind of gelatin that's not made from animals...

Beaded Corsages

Here are some final product pictures of the beaded flowers that I made for Mother's Day. I made them into corsages. The daffodils turned out to be kind of heavy. The little yellow cluster is for my mom - don't tell her!

Here's my latest attempt at a project from Martha's Encyclopedia of Crafts. I'm working on these beaded flowers for Mother's Day brooches. The one on the left is a daffodil. The others are pink and white dogwood blossoms.

Touch of Europe

Here's a great source from Martha: Touch of Europe. She used some of these great decoupage papers in an egg project. I love these butterflies - they go with the last post I made. And the bottom image is a fantastic map of London. They also sell vintage linens and all sorts of things. Check it out.
