Front Door

We're still working on getting our "new" (1961) house into shape.  Here's a peek at our front door.  It's very mid-century and probably needs to be replaced, but for now we've spruced it up with a lovely boxwood wreath from White Horse.

White Horse Antiques Quilts

We got to visit White Horse Antiques as we stopped through Rocheport.  They had a new selection of beautiful red, white, and blue antique quilts.  Aren't these amazing?  I love the designs.

Yankee Peddler Hooked Rugs

I've been working on a hooked rug from a Yankee Peddler kit that I bought at White Horse Antiques in Rocheport. It's been a fun project, and I think I'd like to do more. Mine is a round one with this same leaping rabbit and some stars. I really like the beehive pattern below. I'll have to post some pictures when I'm finished.

Maggie Bonanomi

We were in Missouri over Easter, and I had a chance to visit White Horse Antiques in Rocheport. It was fun to catch up with Marcia (one of the owners) and her dog, Sam. I was excited to find this book: With These Hands, by Maggie Bonanomi. Maggie lives in Lexington, Missouri, and is an incredible crafter. This book outlines primitive projects that she's created - emphasizing rug hooking and similar crafts.

Dash and Albert

I stopped in White Horse on Saturday to look for some things for the home that we will be moving to next month. I didn't exactly find anything, but I did notice some really cute striped rugs. I thought the 2'x3' ones would be good for next to the bed. The owner told me about the rug company - it's called Dash and Albert (after their dogs). Check out their web site - their styling is lovely. I really want this star rug (below).

Williamsburg Table Linens

OK, this isn't the greatest picture, but it's all that I could find. I posted previously about a little shop in my town called White Horse Antiques. One of the things that they carry that I really like is Williamsburg table linens. The napkins and quilted placemats are reversible. I usually just buy one napkin and then use it in the center of my table. This picture's from another store, but this is one of the patterns that I bought - and how cute is that round placemat?

White Horse Antiques

Another of my favorite places to shop here in Rocheport is White Horse Antiques. It's just up the street in a little 1840 historic home. (It looks much nicer in this picture than it does today when it's 1 degree outside!) They have fabulous antiques and new items and a little garden shop out back where I love to buy Pre de Provence soap. Sometimes when we're there, their big golden lab named Sam will come to visit. They also sell primitive rug hooking kits. I got one with a rabbit and stars - I just need to find the time to do it!
