Louis Comfort Tiffany - Field of Lilies

One of the first gifts that my husband gave me when we were dating was this beautiful Louis Comfort Tiffany replica glass panel.  He found it at the Art Institute of Chicago, and I have loved it.  Apparently the Field of Lilies window was designed for an installation at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893.  The chapel that it adorned has been reassembled at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art.  Now that I know where it is, I may have to go visit it!

Macy's on State Tiffany Ceiling

We were in Chicago on Saturday, so we returned to the Macy's on State to track down the Tiffany ceiling. It's on the 5th floor (through the ladies intimate section). The iridescent favrile glass was beautiful. And I really love the pendant lights.

Dream Garden

I'm back! I really had good intentions about posting while we were gone, but Tony and I had too much fun in Philly, and then I was ill pretty much the whole time we were in Utah visiting our families. (I ate some really bad English chips and when my stomach finally felt better came down with a cold...) Nothing like ringing in the new year in the bathroom! (I know, gross.)

Anyway, while we were exploring Philadelphia, we went to the Curtis Center to see the Dream Garden glass mosaic mural. It was a collaboration between the Louis Comfort Tiffany studios and Maxfield Parrish. Fascinating and so beautiful.
