Liberty Bias Tape

I posted about these wool blankets from the Purl about a year ago, and I'm thinking of them again.  They sell the Liberty bias tape in their shop, and it's so lovely.  I think this would be a fun project!

Liberty Party Goods

I recently learned that Oh Happy Day has a shop.  They have cute Liberty of London party goods, like these cupcake flags and paper napkins.  Lovely!

Purl Soho Prism Quilt

My sister alerted me to another fabulous quilt - this one even uses Liberty of London fabric!  It's from Purl Soho, and I love, love, love it.

Anna Maria Horner Well Composed Blouse

I was looking at some lovely Liberty projects online the other day and found this fantastic top made by Melissa at Polka Dot Chair.  She used the Well Composed Blouse pattern by Anna Maria Horner.  Find it here.  I really want this blouse!  Will someone make one for me?

Cabinet Houses

I had not heard of cabinet houses before discovering Liberty's new collection.  They are fascinating little doll houses and miniature rooms made in cabinets in the 1700s and 1800s.  Here are some great examples.  The first is called the Killer Cabinet (named for the owner) from the Victoria and Albert Museum.  The other two examples are from the Rijksmuseum.  Such a fun idea.

The Chesham Cabinet Collection

Liberty has a fantastic new line called the Chesham Cabinet Collection.  The designs are based on antique doll houses and cabinet houses.  That was so interesting to me because of my family's interest in the Thorne Miniature Rooms.  Beautiful fabric, as always.

Liberty in Fashion

To celebrate 140 years of Liberty, the Fashion and Textile Museum in London is staging an exhibit through the end of February titled "Liberty in Fashion."  It looks like they'll also have some really great classes to go along with the exhibit.  I think that we should all celebrate the 140th anniversary by getting or giving some Liberty fabric for Christmas!

Liberty Art Fabrics: Lotta

I just bought a piece of this lovely Liberty fabric from LibertyCharms.  It's a new design for this season called Lotta.  I love the little critters and the folksy feel.  Apparently the Finnish designer researched the BBC's production of Pride and Prejudice for this print.  It's also available in other colorways - see them on Liberty's site here.

Liberty: British Colour Pattern

As I'm sure you've noticed by now, I have really enjoyed learning more about Liberty - especially since visiting their flagship store last year.  So recently I found this incredible book about the company, Liberty: British Colour Pattern.  It includes information about their history, the Tudor shop, the evolution of the brand, their artists and designers, and so on.  Their web site sells it for 35 pounds, which is about $53.  But it's on Amazon for about $35!  My copy arrived a couple of days ago, and I have been so fascinated.  It's a hardcover book with a slipcover and has lovely photographs and prints and even contains envelope pockets with reproductions of ads and letters and patterns.  Such a great resource for Liberty lovers!

Liberty and Wool Projects

The Purl Bee has a couple of fabulous projects using Liberty fabric and wool.  One is a simple blanket using wool and Liberty print bias tape.  You can also back it with Liberty fabric if you choose.  The other is a Liberty and wool lap duvet.  It uses just one yard of wool and one yard of Liberty cotton.  I normally buy small pieces of Liberty, so I'll have to start saving for some yardage!

The Secret Garden Collection

Liberty Art Fabrics Interiors has introduced a new collection based on the much-loved book, The Secret Garden.  The collection of fabrics and wallpapers is so beautiful.  I have really fallen in love with floral prints (especially from Liberty), and I think that they should overrun everyone's home.

Liberty Valentine's Gifts

Liberty has a lovely Valentine's Day Gift Guide on their web site.  If we had tons of money and nothing to spend it on, I would ask for this beautiful bumblebee ring.  I've also been thinking lately about sewing patches of Liberty fabric onto shirts - so imagine my surprise when I saw this sweater!  (At 320 pounds, I think I might be able to make one that's more affordable...)

Craft Fair

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  We did, and now I'm busily preparing for a craft fair.  (Hence the gap in posting...)  I'll be at the DeKalb Area Women's Center Friday evening and Saturday - come see me if you're in the area.  Here are some Liberty print lavender sachets and earrings that I made.  I'm hoping to put what's left over in my Etsy shop.  Stay tuned!

Nike x Liberty Collection

Liberty has partnered with Nike for a collection of fantastic kicks!  It's been many years since I've owned a pair of Nikes, but I would splurge for these and wear them everyday.  Check out the line here.

Liberty of London

I really, really loved the Liberty store in London.  It was so amazing that even my husband wanted to go back a second time!  We, of course, adore the classic Tana Lawn cotton.  It was about $40 per yard, though, so instead I took a picture of the beautiful bolts.  The Liberty print shirts were well over $100, so I took a picture of them, too.  A girl can dream!  What I actually walked out the door with was a lovely Liberty print handkerchief.  If you ever get to London, go to the store - the entrance is just off Regent Street.

Rule Britannia!

I really love the Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabric.  On Etsy, the shop PickClickSew has a great selection of patterns and sizes including this William Morris-inspired Strawberry Thief.  The fabric comes straight from England - how fun!

Father's Day Tie

When we were looking at fabric the other day, my husband saw some that he thought would make a nice necktie. So I searched online for a pattern. The Purl Bee has a great Father's Day tie pattern and instructions. They made theirs with some beautiful Liberty of London fabric. I'll have to see if I can get one to turn out...
