The Great British Baking Show

Have you been watching The Great British Baking Show?  It's a baking competition airing on PBS, and it's so great.  I thought that the episode about biscuits was so interesting.  This season was filmed on the grounds of Welford Park, a private home in Berkshire famed for its beautiful fields of snowdrops.  You can catch up here starting from Episode 3, if you watch in the next 5 days.  And I just found out that there's a companion cookbook!  (Find it on Amazon here.)

Do you like the band Phoenix?  I love them.  And they're French!  Check them out on Austin City Limits here.

Inspector Lewis

Sorry for missing last week!  After the move we needed to clean our old place so that we could get our deposit back - you know how it goes.  Now I can start on our new home!

Inspector Lewis is back on Masterpiece Mystery this month.  Get caught up at PBS.org.

Yellowstone

On our trip out West, we were able to visit Yellowstone for a couple of days.  It is incredible.  We agree with Ken Burns that the National Parks were an excellent idea.  The land is so beautiful - we are glad that it's been preserved for all of us.

Little Dorrit

Did you get to see Little Dorrit on Masterpiece? The Andrew Davies version is stellar. It has a fantastic cast. I haven't read much Charles Dickens, but I'm enjoying the PBS adaptations. I'll have to catch up on Great Expectations now!
