Orange Blossom Honey French Liquid Soap

We were in the neighborhood of Trader Joe's the other day and stopped in for about five minutes.  (Not long enough!)  We got some of this lovely soap - they call it Trader Jacque's (ha, ha) French Liquid Soap.  The scent is orange blossom honey, and it is so nice.

Scottish Fine Soaps

I saw some of this cute soap in a tin at TJ Maxx the other day.  It smelled delightful - I may have to go back and pick some up.  Made by The Scottish Fine Soaps Company.

Barr-Co. Oatmeal Soap

When we were at the Missouri Botanical Garden last month, we discovered a fabulous new soap company from St. Louis.  Barr-Co. soaps smell delightful - their original scent is a kind of oatmeal.  Lovely.

Vetiver and Juniperberry Soap

When we were in Vancouver, we stopped in a Crabtree & Evelyn shop. I couldn't resist getting this bar of soap: Vetiver and Juniperberry. It smells heavenly. (Actually it smells quite a bit like Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet.)

Gianna Rose Orchid and Honeysuckle Soap

I recently ordered this soap from Caswell-Massey when it was on sale. Gianna Rose Atelier soaps are always so beautiful, and this one smells fantastic.

Making soap

I tried my hand at soap making last week. I just used a clear glycerin base and added things from the kitchen. The first is honey and oatmeal. The second is an orange spice herbal tea - I also used a little food coloring to make it orange instead of brown. Then I used a cookie cutter to cut smaller pieces. The third one is blueberry - I used a little too much. I used the bottom of a soda bottle for the mold, which was interesting, but the recycle symbol and other numbers showed up... The last has bits of the peel of a clementine, and it smells really good.
