Charm Bracelets

You must know by now that I love charm bracelets.  Here is the bracelet that started it all.  My sister sent me this photo of my sweet grandma's bracelet from the early '40s.  She received the charms from boyfriends, and I love the variety.  Next is my charm bracelet that I've been working on for a few years now.  I pick up charms on our travels - notable charms include bagpipes from Scotland and Abe Lincoln's top hat from Springfield, IL.  Now that it's full, I've started a new bracelet (with a mama bear and cub from Mount Rainier National Park)!   

Beadles

When we were back east visiting some friends, we visited Rockport, MA.  It's a fun little town on the water.  I found a great bead shop: Beadles and got this cute charm for my charm bracelet.  It's modeled on the famous fishing shack (below).

Charm Bracelet Display

We went to Temple Square when we were in Utah over Christmas, and I bought a pin made from the Nauvoo Legion button mold. I decided to display it with my charm bracelet - so I pinned it to some grey linen and put it in a frame. What do you think?

Charm Bracelets

When we were teenagers, my grandma gave my sister her charm bracelet. It was the greatest gift ever. It is silver and full of charms that were given to her by former boyfriends (or, beaus, as she would say). Last year I started a charm bracelet of my own with a sego lily charm that I got during the Salt Lake Olympics in 2002. So far I've added the Statue of Liberty, a Midwestern squirrel, the Liberty Bell, a Nauvoo Temple star, a copper beehive from the Bingham Canyon Mine, and a few others. It has been so much fun. Here are some cute examples from Tiffany's (with the signature blue box) and the Met (using Russian animals).
